S3C's featured audio artist of the week (week #5)
This week the featured artist is Kaija!
This week I'm very excited to advertise Kaija because she's got some beautiful work far different from NG. She provides ambient/classical tracks-everything recorded and acoustic, what is so diverse about her music is a lot of her instruments are home-made, and she tops it off with the most beautiful vocals that you will ever hear. Kaija's music is a true hidden gem on NG as they don't have many downloads and listens, but then again- I recently found out that the music there is stolen for MusicalSerenity's aunt.
Some good tracks by her
A simple but moving track, featuring an rubber band instrument and soothing, graceful vocals sang in a foreign language (if it even is a language)
I'll put in the rest tommorrow

This week the featured artist is crud!
If you're a listener that does not like techno, then you really need to listen to crud immediately and I can only promise you that he will change your mind. His music is very lush and refreshing, packs a lot of good melodical content and is more diverse than the typical generic "unce unce unce unce" beats and simple five note melodies and bassline progressions, that are commonly generalized in this genre. I absolutely love his synth designs and catchy beats. Lots of different stuff is on his audio page which I am sure can please any listener.
Some kickass tunes by him:
Awesome beatboxing with some sweet and groovy synth lines
An upbeat techno song with some juicy synths and heartwarming melodies , plus breakbeats and a booming bass
Nice echoing synths with a very happy main melody and well moving progression
A cheesy, fuzzy, funny (as the title suggests), and catchy 80s style pop track
Creative usage of different sounds, with jazzy drum beats, multiple groovy melodies, and a real chilled out atmosphere
I hope you like this week's artist! I hope to see you back next week for my fifth featured artist.

This week the featured artist is NickPerrin!
Nick Perrin is a top-notch, somewhat under-looked classical and cinematic composer on NG. Listen to his epic stuff, and you will be enthralled by the complexity and professional sound of his compositions. His music is sure to take your mind places from outer space to medieval times. He is certainly an artist that you should keep an eye on to see where he goes in the future.
Some of my faves:
Orion's Belt
An epic, thematic adventure with pulsating riffs played through the percussion and strings, mixed with playful clarinet licks and glistening harp arpeggios
An aptly designed video game track including sweet electronica parts and cool guitars
Another grand cinematic work that sparks a sense of wonder and contains some very intense moments
An orchestral remake of a retro Castlevania tune, contains good usage of a harpsichord that follows with a breathtaking symphony
A medley of upcoming pieces from Nick Perrin, the intricate and visual melodies will entice you to come back
Hope you like this weeks artist! Come back next week at 12 AM to see who will be featured next.

This week the featured artist is snoballandthmonyshot!
Snoballandthmonyshot utilizes both sounds of the electronic and acoustic worlds to produce a very unique, diverse sound. Lots of interesting, intricate electronic snippets are provided throughout his pieces with a touch of mixed vocal styles, percussion, guitar, and saxophone. When I first came to NG, I was absolutely amazed by his style as I hadn't heard anything remotely like him before. So he's been a huge inspiration for my more electronic and "miscellaneous" based tracks without a doubt.
Some of my favorite tracks:
Simple electronic melodies playing throughout touched up with blending vocal styles, topped off with mellow guitar and saxophone licks
A very moody track, contains some electronica bits with interesting drum snippets mixed with hand percussion, with some saxophone and clarinet thrown in for good measure. Overall, it has a nice jazz feel mixed with a refreshing style.
Interesting IDM drums with both of some dissonant and harmonious melodies and an overall eerie but melancholy sound
Smooth jazzyish saxophone playing with a beautiful atmosphere that gets progressively deeper and moving as the track rolls along
Catchy guitar and bass licks and imaginative drumming that flows right into a reggae suprise
Go check him out now! Enjoy! New artist next week!

This week the featured artist is snayk!
Snayk packs a lot of interesting, ambient textures in his backgrounds while placing effective melodies on top in his tracks. Also, I love his experimental drum styles that are sure to inspire creativity. Lots of variety on his page too, from dance to ambient to drum and bass goodness.
My favorite tracks by him:
Sad Purple Faces
A simple yet moving melody with a deep atmosphere and well crafted glitchy drum beat
Interesting synth and pad development with experimental drums
A creepy ambient background mixed with sinister overtones and haunting vocals
An upbeat house track with a very catchy main melody
Ethnic ambience mixed with audacious, industrialized drums
Hope you enjoy, stay tuned next week Wednesday at 12 AM to see the next featured artist!

Upload 100 Audio Submissions
Don't think this is difficult, considering I probably won't be posting much on my main anymore, and I have lots of old crap that I still might consider uploading. I know my stuff isnt great but they wont be spam submissions either, as I've put atleast 1-5 hours into them (anything over usually ends up being a full song and going on my main account). I'm trying to cover various themes, such a track or loop for the mountains, one for outer space, a desert, etc.
Create a Flash Submission
I'm learning Flash and AS and its pretty difficult, i've got to say making music is not as strenous. I might upload a shitty game, or hopefully a tutorial regarding a music topic. Anyone got any requests or need help in their audio?
Get used in a Flash submission
Very few people view my audio anyways, so this may be a hard task to accomplish. Hopefully atleast one animator or flash user finds my stuff useful.
Reach 200 reviews
Shouldn't be too difficult. My other account already has 450ish. Of course, (the vast majority) they wont be short one liners for sure, I always like to give advice and point out the pros and cons of their piece. Anybody have any audio they want me to listen to and review?
Reach 10 Fans
I'm just aiming for ten >_>
Reached 5/16/07!
