Once I dreamt I was in an old row house (two floors, narrow but long)... there was a party, but ppl were getting nervous looking out the window.. didn't see.. I saw flashes of light (kinda like in Madness) on the horizon over a small but sprawling town.
Went downstairs and in a flash, slightly less than half the people got turned into balls of different colored light, and the other half was naked, heaped in a squirming pile in front me! The ppl-turned-light zipped off through the walls, as I stared down at the mess of humanity in front me.
One or two light-ppl came back and hovered around me... could sense their thoughts.. Then I realized I WAS one of those balls of light. I could feel friendship and joy near the 2-3 others. Then I chanced passing though a wall, and did! Then I woke up... mortal man was not meant to go certain places, but I believe there are abilities we can use, that were lost long, long ago.

i think i've had a similarly describable feeling in dreams, where you feel a kind of warm friendship and metaphysical-like connection to other people; in my case, it usually occurs with people that I'm not comfortable engaging with in reality.
what abilities do you think humans had ages ago? and why would your brain's projection of something outside of the natural realm of the world trigger that thought? Some may say that the humans long ago could sense the magnetic pull of the Earth's poles, and could instinctively tell which direction was East/West/North/South, some people are probably still able to do this.
A few years prior to the dream, a friend and I went to a party that was already winding down... that was the setting of the dream, supposedly.

I'm (very) skeptical about some of the evidence JordanD provides, but I'm still on board with some of the guys ideas...I guess. I stopped watching after he got to the part about Mars lol. As I've said before, collective conscience exists. It's mainly in 'less complicated' or overall less sentient 'beings'. In the brain, memories are held together by a series of neural networks. You cannot individually target a neuron to erase a memory. On an organism level, ants are able to build shit and walk certain paths, but if you put an ant by itself it wanders around aimlessly. the idea i am more or less proposing: our conscience has become less inward over time and more outward. in fact, that's somewhat true in the human life cycle, before you were taught how to categorize objects by shape, and color, for example, you experienced what is known as "pure sensation". At one point in your life everything that you "saw" as the color blue also had a specific taste, feel, smell, sound, and while we are at it, why not a certain gender, or emotion too. There's actually a neurological condition coined for this phenomenon: synesthesia, and more broadly ideasthesia. Point being, your neural networks are arranged differently, so you have different abilities. Well, we still have them, at a diminished level.

If you wrote down each dream within the dream you woke up from the dream in, maybe you'd remember it easier after the dreaming. Reminds me of a time, or many, when I was incredibly certain I was awake, only to realize I wasn't when I woke up. And what then? Maybe this is all still just a figment of a giant imaginative nation.

thanks for the tip, never knew that. Apples are good as an anti-diarrheal (the pectin in the flesh, but not the fiber in the skin) but just the scent of vinegar is/was enough to make me nauseous. seriously, i had a dream about eating salt and vinegar pistachios (wtf) and I woke up in a sweat and ran immediately to the bathroom. anyhow, just trying to let the bug run its course...get completely out of my system. i made 25-30 trips two days ago, I wonder if that's nearing a record.
